" Thank you so much for your time and such beautiful art work,
it looks great above our mantel"
--- Marv and Linda C.
I
was born of Swedish ancestry in Hibbing, Minnesota in 1947. Most of
my life has been spent in North Idaho and I have for the past 23 years
lived in the mountains north of Coeur d’Alene with my wife and
three children. With 24 years in the steel fabrication business, I eventually
found I needed a career change after major back surgery. During recuperation,
I began experimenting with metal and designs and discovered artistic
and creative abilities I never knew I had. I began creating metal art
sculptures for family and friends in 1998, which led to perfecting my
skills and techniques and progressing on to local and nationwide customers,
shops and galleries.
I have always had a great love of the outdoors and a keen appreciation for the beauty of nature and its wildlife. It is this appreciation
that drives me to perfect each scene and to obtain realism through the stimulation of rich colors. This I believe is what draws people
to my art. Each piece I create is an attempt at the individual reflection of nature with as much realism as possible using a piece of steel
and the hot flame of an oxycetylene torch. By combining the careful techniques of cutting, grinding and heating these metals, I endeavor
to create a piece of art to impress and create enjoyment. I love to hear the “WOW” and favorable comments of first time viewers.
